Contributions by Practitioners

It is not expected that all NSA practitioners should or will have a high level of interest in advanced and sophisticated research. However, public and professional interest in NSA will certainly be enhanced as a growing body of evidence regarding its benefits appears. This can readily be accomplished through case reports by the hundreds of NSA practitioners.

As Research Director I will be available to assist NSA practitioners wishing to write case reports, bringing them to publication quality.

Debut of a New International Peer Reviewed Journal

Since there are a limited number of journals that are receptive to reports dealing with health as an outcome, I have also embarked on the development of an international peer reviewed quarterly journal titled "Advances in Health and Wellness." This journal will publish properly conducted studies and case reports from any discipline that espouses health and wellness as an outcome of their respective approaches. I expect the Journal to debut in December of 2002, or March of 2003.

Current Case Reports and other Scholarly Contributions

In seeking case reports for the Journal, I have visited the offices of Dr. Sophia Rodriques in Costa Madera, CA., Dr. Guy Doran in Redwood City, CA and Dr. Lawrence Stern in Bedford Hills, New York. It is to their credit that I have been invited to assist them in preparing reports of some of their cases.

Dr. Rodriques has witnessed dramatic improvement in three women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Dr. Duran has recorded significant improvement with a patient diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia following a previous closed head injury. Dr. Stern has been caring for three individuals with severe cervical spinal cord injuries resulting in varying levels of quadriplegia. In each of these cases the outcomes have been remarkable and merit publication. Communication with Drs. Jason and Judy Barritt indicate that a reported remarkable reduction in a practice member presenting with Psoriasis covering 95% of her body. I am hopeful this report will be published. Dr. Jennifer Lees has observed impressive improvement in childhood asthma in fraternal twins while under her care. Her report is in progress.

These reports become more significant when coupled with previous published studies and reports. Other reports provide such diverse outcomes as a possible sympathetic "quieting" effect in patients while receiving NSA care by Miller, Redmond in 1998, and a significant reduction in psoriasis by Behrendt 1998. The growing body of positive outcomes observed among individuals while under NSA care suggests a wide range of possible benefits for its recipients.

In light of these reports, I encourage NSA practitioners and their associates to contribute to this growing body of information related to outcomes observed among their practice members.

Future events and information

Frequently, I will provide updates of case reports in progress and those completed. Like all research, the development of a case report from inception to completion takes time, but the results are timeless. I issue a call to all NSA practitioners and their associates to contact me for consultation regarding their interesting cases.

Certainly, through conference presentations, journal publications, and other forms of public and professional dissemination of clinical and theoretical findings, awareness of NSA will be enhanced.

I have spoken at the Gjovik College University, Faculty of Health Sciences in Oppland, Norway, where I presented an academic course on November 19th and a more in-depth seminar on the 20th 2002. I incorporated data derived from NSA research to frame the academic portion of the program. NSA practitioner Lars-Olov AhIborg, resident in Sweden, joined me on the 20th for an absolutely brilliant demonstration of NSA. Although my presentation was not about NSA, I am hopeful that the data derived from NSA research, and an appropriately conducted demonstration will plant seeds of curiosity among our already health conscious Norwegian friends. Stay tuned for a more detailed report on this very exciting Network and Wellness International event.

As well, over the next year I will be working with Dr. Epstein to conclude a final draft for a NSA textbook. This will be necessary to support those who wish to seek NSA certification through the developing certificate/master's degree program.

In the next research update, I will discuss research in progress and projects that we are looking to launch, pending your financial support.

Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Holidays and New Years to All.
